Senior Accountant

SKS Business Services are looking for aspirational Senior Accountants to join the SKS Group. With vacancies available in Oldham, Scunthorpe and Stevenage, there is requirement for dynamic managers/ leaders, who can work in a fast-paced environments, to drive the SKS Group forward.

SKS are looking for an experienced qualified Accountant who will be required to take responsibility for a part of client fees. The Group is growing rapidly and thus requires proactive and aspirational Managers/Senior Accountants who can provide value added advisory services to the client. They are also expected to help with the audits.

The important qualities required by the candidate are exceptional communication skills, the ability to be a team player, and willingness to support and work with the business development team in assisting to win prospective clients. 

Reports to:

Practice Director.

Job Responsibilities:

Client Liaison:

  • To be the point of contact for all client liaison. Complete client profile summary.              
  • Meeting clients to discuss financial statements, corporation tax returns and personal tax returns.
  • Provide business advisory as much as possible. Seek help of Practice Directors as and when necessary.
  • Help with the audits as required.
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Detect and prevent money laundering. 

Account Management:  

  • To ensure accurate and timely billing and receipt.
  • Manage new client onboarding.
  • Participate in weekly update meetings.
  • Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices.
  • Manage UK based accounting / admin staff as required.
  • Participate in various improvement projects initiated by the Group.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops- reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.  

Business Development:

  • Business Development – assist SKS Business Development as required to acquire new clients. Meet prospective clients, discuss requirements and create proposal (with assistance from Directors as required).
  • Extend the value chain by introducing new services to existing clients at all touch points. 

Other leadership qualities:

  •    Develop trainee accountants or subordinates.


  • ACA/ACCA with at least 3 years of post qualification experience.
  • Accounting, Tax, reporting Skills, time management, supervision/management skills, Word/Excel, accounting and tax packages.
  • The individual should have attention to detail, deadline-oriented and keen on research.
